He Proposed to Me with Her Ring Size
Narrator versus fiancé who measured the wrong woman for the ring.
The narrator watches her fiancé kneel before a crowd, only for the ring to jam on her finger. Sophie slides it on instantly, and the jeweler verifies the band matches her measurements — a detail he retained from idle talk while erasing the person he claimed to cherish. She hands the jewelry back and walks out, leaving him with the woman whose size he memorized.
The edge
- 01Ring fits best friend, not bride
- 02Fiancé recalls Sophie's size only
- 03Public walkout ends engagement
